Signature Wood-Clad Swing Door E80
A hinged terrace door that matches the wood-clad window platform pane-for-pane, so a door in a window run reads as part of the same composition. Multi-point locking, an aluminum weather face outside and a wood face inside.
Configure your unit, then request a quote — we price it and reply, usually within one business day.
Every unit is made to the opening. Sizes confirmed at quotation.
Low-E1 / E2 / E3 coatings, laminated and tempered build-ups available. We recommend the coating for your climate zone.
Factory-applied on White Oak or Cherry. Site finishing is never required.
Full RAL range on request; the twelve most-ordered colours are listed. Powder coat or anodised.
No price is shown because every unit is made to order. You will get a written quote for exactly this configuration.
Overview
An inswing hinged terrace door on the same 79.4 mm (3 1/8") E80 section as the wood-clad tilt & turn window, with the same 1 7/16" visible frame face — which is the point of it: a door set into a run of windows keeps one frame line across the whole elevation. Leaves run to 42" wide at 96" high, or 102" high at 36" wide, up to 2.6 m² (28 sq ft) and 583 lb.
It is the hinged door of the wood line, and the choice is against the Lift & Slide (217), which is the only other wood door. The lift & slide sits on a 217.5 mm section and covers openings up to 48 feet wide by sliding or pocketing its panels away; this one swings, on a section shallow enough to match the windows either side of it. Specify the swing door for single- or double-leaf openings that belong to the window composition, and the slider where the opening itself is the architecture.
Interior is real wood on a 1 11/16" × 2 7/16" frame profile with a 3 13/16" visible sash face, factory-finished in cherry or white oak with seven stains or three paints. The exterior is extruded aluminium cladding at a minimum 1.6 mm (1/16") wall with seamlessly welded corners, in nineteen colours including three pearlescent finishes. Glass is 1 9/16" on an EPDM spacer.
Multi-point locking is standard: concealed stainless steel head and foot bolts hold the leaf at three points, with a keyed or non-keyed lever. Two adjustable hinges are offered and the difference matters at size — a two-part butt hinge, or a screw-on hinge rated for leaves up to 353 lb, which is the hinge's own capacity and not the door's 583 lb limit. Both adjust after installation, so the fit can be trued up over the door's life. Roto and Hoppe supply the gear and handles, and a trackless folding screen door is available.

Mounting and frame options
The frame type decides the rough-opening detail, the flashing and how much of the existing wall has to come out. Four are available; tell us the wall build-up and we will specify which one your opening needs.
The standard new-construction frame. The flange laps the sheathing so the unit sets and seals in one operation.
A 1 3/8" flange is available where the cladding build-up needs the extra reach.
Installs over an existing aluminum window frame, so the stucco exterior is left intact. No cutting back and repatching.
Available on selected window types — ask us which of your openings can take it before you price the stucco work.
For full removal, when the existing frame is rotten or damaged and has to come out entirely.
Sets into the existing rough opening, and arrives with the through-the-jamb holes pre-drilled and the screws supplied.
Straps fix to the frame, which lets the unit sit anywhere in the depth of the wall cavity rather than at a fixed setback.
Installs from the interior, and works for both new construction and replacement.
Full CAD details for any of these are available on request for your wall assembly.
Factory-joined combinations for large openings
Multi-unit combinations are joined in the factory and delivered as one assembly, so the joint is made under shop conditions instead of on a scaffold. The joining mullion is 1 1/8" (28 mm) wide and comes in three reinforcement grades, chosen by the height of the window it has to carry. The system is covered by a US patent.
| Suggested window height | Joint width |
|---|---|
| up to 9 ft | 1 1/8" (28 mm) |
| 9 to 11 ft | 1 1/8" (28 mm) |
| 11 to 13 ft | 1 1/8" (28 mm) |
Combinations arrive partly or fully assembled depending on size and shipping method. Tell us the opening and we will confirm which grade your height needs and how the unit will be split for transport, before you price the crane time.

Options
Finishes
Powder-coat finishes to the standard RAL card, plus anodized options. Wood interiors are available in several species and interior finishes.
Glazing
- Double- or triple-pane insulated glass
- Low-E1 / Low-E2 / Low-E3 coatings
- Argon fill
- Tempered and laminated build-ups
- Custom interlayer colours and patterns
Exterior finish
The exterior is extruded aluminum cladding, which is why the finish schedule matters more here than the colour chart on a vinyl window: it is a powder coat on structural extrusion, not a surface tint.
19 finishes are available in total, including three pearlescent. Twelve are named here; ask us for the rest, or for a custom colour match.
Swatches are indicative only — reproduced from print, shown on your screen. Specify by RAL number, and ask us for a physical sample before you commit an elevation to a colour.

Hardware
Concealed stainless steel three-point head and foot bolts · Keyed or non-keyed lever handle · Adjustable two-part butt hinge, or screw-on hinge for leaves up to 353 lb · ROTO / HOPPE · Trackless folding screen door
Interior wood and finish
Finishes are applied in the factory, not on site. That removes a trade from your programme and a variable from the result — site finishing depends on the weather and whoever is holding the brush.
Exposed millwork is treated with a water-repellent wood preservative before finishing.
Swatches are indicative only. The same stain reads differently on white oak than on cherry — the source shows each colour on both — and no screen matches stain over real grain. Specify by name and ask us for a sample.
Lead Time
- Standard configurations, such as a 70-series double-glazed unit: 18 days in the factory from order. This is production time and does not include shipping.
- Special configurations: 3–5 weeks in production, also from order.
- Ocean freight: about 35 days to the U.S. West Coast, about 45 days to the East Coast.
- Schedules are confirmed in writing at order. We build to your project timeline.
