A four-storey residential building on a busy road. The units are PTAC windows — the sleeve for the through-wall heat pump is built into the window rather than cut into the wall afterwards — glazed with a triple build-up chosen for the traffic noise rather than for the U-factor alone.

An automatic sliding entrance with a fixed transom above. The owner’s comment is about what happened during a power cut: the leaves released and opened. That is a code requirement for an egress door, not a bonus feature — but it is the kind of thing you only find out about on the day.
