Can imported windows meet Florida HVHZ requirements?
Our impact line is tested to Miami-Dade County NOA standards under TAS 201, TAS 202 and TAS 203, per the Florida Building Code 8th edition (2023), at Zone 4 missile level D. It does not hold a Miami-Dade NOA number. Approval is granted jurisdiction by jurisdiction and confirmed in writing.
The distinction that decides your submittal
Testing to a protocol and holding an approval are two different things, and conflating them is the single most consequential error a window supplier can make on a Florida job.
A Notice of Acceptance is a specific numbered approval issued by Miami-Dade County Product Control. Testing to the same protocols is a real and substantial thing, and it is what has been done — but a contractor who reads "Miami-Dade certified", puts it in a submittal and is then asked for the NOA number has been handed a problem. So we do not write it.

What was tested, and to what
Testing follows the Florida Building Code, 8th edition (2023). Units undergo TAS 201 (impact), TAS 202 (structural) and TAS 203 (cyclic pressure), and are rated for Zone 4, missile level D at 50 ft/sec — the large-missile requirement for a High Velocity Hurricane Zone.
The line is built for high-risk hurricane exposure: multi-layered laminated and tempered glass in reinforced frames, designed for the south-eastern coasts and the islands.
How to get from here to a permit
Approvals are granted jurisdiction by jurisdiction. NOA and Florida Product Approval numbers are available upon request for your jurisdiction — tell us the project location and we will confirm in writing what this unit is approved for there before you specify it.
This satisfies testing requirements in parts of Florida. It is not the same as holding a Notice of Acceptance: the line does not carry a Miami-Dade NOA number at present. Send us the project address and we will confirm in writing what applies there before you specify it.
